First Transition

Changing the Story

One of the suggestions given to me regarding my writing was changing the plot and the premise to make it completely fresh and new. 
I took their suggestion and decided to try and turn it into a crime boss/ mafia type story with some romance. I typed the first chapter and it seemed to be going really well until my micro-managing the plot line got in the way.
Trying to write this story made me realize that I tend to overthink my plot, characters, and dialogue, making it extremely hard to actually get to writing it out. It also didn't help that I have a bad habit of doing everything in my head and not writing it out on paper.
