First Draft

August 2016

My first attempt at the story was screaming "Fanfiction!"
Mainly, because that's where the inspiration started.

First Transition

April 2017

Using the same characters but changing the setting and the ages, I created a different type of book.
It began to drag me down.

Purgatory!

May 2017 - January 2018

A writers hell!
Sitting and starring at words but no passion.

Who knew that the people around you can be the greatest source of inspiration?

Apparently everyone but me.

Inspiration

Getting the inspiration for writing is the hardest thing to obtain and when it strikes, you have to take it by the reins and run with it. When I first stated writing, I wanted a way to express myself and get the stories I was coming up with in my room out to the world. At first I started with something not so professional but felt I could expand out in the world.

Coffee and Magazines

Steps

Since I never considered writing professionally in the past, I had no idea where to start. I started writing for myself and few people who had same interests in me but didn't expect amazing writing so when I wanted to move on, I didn't know where to start. Luckily, I found some fellow writers at school who knew of a good editing group and help me improve my skills. Going every week and having others with similar and better skills helped me improve my skills.

Typewriter

Skills

My skills started out simple just like anyone else, my specialty being dialogue. I worked on getting personality and chemistry through dialogue but I also learned how better my description and world building. It's not something seen in the script but it is seen in my most recent works.

EDGE Project

The goal for me was to expand my skills and create and interesting story and the EDGE project allowed me to do just that. It's called EDGE for a reason, since it pushes you to your limits and makes you challenge yourself. I do believe I achieved my goal however, I do know there is room for more growth for me and I hope that more of my stories are given to the world.

Project Completion Report

Having an idea of starting a project is a lot different from its outcome. Starting a project, you have an idea in your head of how it will turn out only to see the finished project and realize it's completely different. Yet, seeing the finished project you realize that it is a lot better than what you first pictured.

"I enjoy writing because it gives me the chance to explore things I would never get to do otherwise. I can see worlds built before my very eyes, see characters live their entire lifetimes, and see how a little bit of magic can change everything."
